The Accomodation

Guests can choose from ten room categories, plus the 211-square-meter (2,271 square feet) Villa des Vignes. In total, the château offers 37 accommodations. Rooms and suites combine warm wood details with pale stone, and many overlook the vineyards. The entry-level Bourgogne Room measures up to 28 square meters (301 square feet), while the Cuverie Suite sits directly above the winery. For true château character, the Rotonde Suite is housed in a medieval tower dating back to the 14th century. Good to know: Every room comes with boots and raincoats, allowing guests to explore the surroundings whatever the weather. Music lovers should opt for one of the four Signature Suites, which feature premium sound systems; one also includes a record player and a vinyl collection. Diptyque amenities are provided in every bathroom, while the Signature Suites also come with a selection of wines.

The Culinary

The two restaurants at Château la Commaraine draw on Burgundy’s vineyards and rich culinary heritage. Le Clos offers a relaxed bistro atmosphere with direct views of the winery, serving regional classics and seasonal dishes. The menu features favorites such as Boeuf Bourguignon, Coq au Gevrey-Chambertin and Trout Meunière, alongside game dishes and French desserts including Rum Baba and vanilla flan. For fine dining, guests can head to Le VIII, located in the château’s former vaulted cellar. Under the culinary direction of Christophe Raoux, the restaurant serves creative cuisine in an atmospheric setting shaped by the building’s history. The wine and spirits list places a clear focus on Burgundy, with regional labels, rare vintages and discoveries from across France. Together, the two venues give guests a choice between casual local flavors and a refined evening experience.

The Experiences

A stay at Château la Commaraine is about more than simply checking in – it is an invitation to immerse yourself in Burgundy’s landscapes, traditions and wine culture. Guests can discover the estate through tastings, cellar tours and behind-the-scenes visits to the winery, or enjoy a typically French picnic among the vines. Other experiences include private dinners with winemakers, visits to local markets, cooking classes, e-bike tours through the surrounding countryside and excursions in a classic Citroën 2CV. Those looking to slow down can retreat to the spa, which features an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, plunge pool and three treatment rooms. The treatment menu includes experiences combining infrared heat with immersive 360-degree sound, while spa partnerships include MyBlend, part of the Clarins Group, and Paris-based Flora Lab Paris.
