The Accommodations

Guests at the Aino Private Island Hotel may have to share the private island – but with very few others. Alongside one villa, the property features just eleven suites, hidden among the surrounding trees. Interiors follow a bright Scandinavian-chic aesthetic: clean-lined, rich in wood, and filled with decorative touches that create an elegant sense of comfort. The three accommodation categories – Deluxe, Deluxe River View, and River Suite – are designed for two guests, while the River Suite with Loft can accommodate three. Those seeking more space can opt for The Villa, which offers three bedrooms, with the TV room convertible into a fourth. The residence also includes an open-plan living area with a fireplace for the long Arctic winters and a large terrace made for endless evenings under the midnight sun.

The F&B

Looking for atmosphere? Restaurant Vuo delivers exactly that. The hotel’s exclusive F&B outlet seats up to 40 guests and is accessible only to those staying at the property. An open fireplace creates a distinctly Nordic sense of warmth and authenticity. The menu focuses on dishes that tell the culinary story of Lapland, always using local and seasonal ingredients. Guests wanting to elevate the experience even further can opt for wine pairings from the curated cellar. Good to know: both breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate.

The Experiences

Nature takes center stage in Finnish Lapland – naturally. The Aino Private Island Hotel features two saunas, including a striking glass sauna set right by the river. Guests looking to immerse themselves even deeper in the Arctic landscape year-round can simply contact the hotel concierge, who coordinates experiences together with the Arctic Tree House Hotel. Dog sledding? Absolutely. Arctic floating? Also possible. Even feeding reindeer can be arranged on request. Back on the island, the Soul Pharmacy offers a quiet retreat inspired by an old-fashioned apothecary. Guests can choose from curated "prescriptions" for relaxation and experience the Neurosonic bed, which uses low-frequency vibrations to reduce stress and support restful sleep. Plenty of peace and quiet can also be found inside the Pavilion Library.
