Luxury Ambassador of the Month
Gintare Ferrario, Otiou · Switzerland
What sparked your passion for luxury travel?
"Travel for me started long before it became my profession. It began when I left Lithuania and moved to London in 2000 with almost nothing except curiosity, courage, and a feeling that life had to be bigger than what I knew at the time. Over the years, travel became deeply personal. Cornwall especially touched my soul – it became a place of healing, inspiration, silence, nature, and reconnection. I have now spent around 18 years within luxury hospitality and what I love most is creating feelings and memories – not simply itineraries. What makes me passionate about this industry is that travel changes people. It expands you emotionally, spiritually, culturally. It brings inspiration, healing, connection, and perspective. For me, luxury travel today is no longer only about where you go – it is about how a place makes you feel, what it awakens inside you, and the stories you bring back home."

Which travel themes do you specialize in?
"I normally go by the client’s needs, but also very much by feeling and intuition. If I feel good energy from a place, then I know I can truly recommend it and create something special around it. For me, travel is about emotions and what a place awakens in people. My roots come from Bavaria, so I’ve always loved that side of Europe – mountains, lakes, old towns, elegance, history and castles. I work a lot with Europe, Africa, Japan and Alaska – all completely different energies, but each with something powerful. Africa gives raw nature and emotion, Japan gives deep beauty and ritual, Alaska gives silence and awe, and Europe for me is all about culture, hidden stories, romance and heritage. And spiritually… Scotland has my heart. The land feels ancient, mystical and deeply grounding at the same time."
What was the funniest request a client ever asked you for?
"One of the funniest and most complicated situations I had was when a client wanted me to organize a surprise engagement during a trip. Sounds romantic and easy… until his girlfriend contacted me separately to organize a birthday surprise for him. So suddenly I had two people speaking to me at the same time, both trying to create surprises for each other, and I had to carefully navigate everything without ruining the engagement plans. I remember having to almost 'act' and say certain dates or ideas were not possible, while secretly building this whole romantic setup behind the scenes."
What has been your top goosebump moment on a trip?
"One of the most emotional moments I experienced during a trip happened in Cornwall (which is an extremely popular destination for the Dutch speaking markets) after a deeply personal transformation in my life. Standing on these majestic cliffs, with the ocean below and dramatic clouds moving above me, it almost felt like touching the energy of Atlantis – wild, ancient and magical. This was also the moment when I started creating retreats and even doing hair styling overlooking the sea. This is certainly a moment I will never forget!"
What are the main challenges for travel advisors right now?
"I think the biggest challenge nowadays is that travel has become incredibly fast and impersonal. Clients still want genuine human connection, trust and personal service. That is why I focus on personal concierge service, bespoke luxury travel, ultra-luxury experiences and MICE – and always deliver them with my own personal touch."
What destinations remain on your personal bucket list?
"My bucket list is mostly ancient and spiritually powerful places rather than typical tourism – Egypt, especially Luxor and the pyramids, Peru and the Sacred Valley, Scotland, Malta, Göbekli Tepe in Turkey, ancient temples and sacred mountains in Japan, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and Lalibela in Ethiopia. I’m very drawn to places with ancient energy, mystery and powerful nature"
