Ultra Luxury
Something exciting is happening in South Africa’s Eastern Cape: Set within an 800-hectare private reserve, the ultra-luxury resort Mantis Hiddn in Addo – part of Accor’s Mantis collection – has officially opened its doors. The mountain retreat with the unusual name is nestled in the heart of Addo Elephant National Park and focuses not only on immersive wildlife encounters, but also on deeply restorative wellness rituals. Every stay is highly personalized with a dedicated Experience Guide, who begins curating each journey weeks before arrival and continues the tailored support well beyond departure with carefully selected follow-up recommendations.

Mantis Hiddn in Addo features just twelve suites and two private villas – including one four-bedroom residence. All accommodations are designed to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living.

Culinary experiences play a central role at the ultra-lux lodge. Menus are created collaboratively by guests and the chef, featuring ingredients foraged during guided walks through the surroundings.

Some suites even feature wood-fired KolKol bathtubs – locally made outdoor hot tubs heated entirely by wood. Add uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains, and the sense of serenity is complete.

The wellness concept extends far beyond traditional spa experiences. Guests can indulge in cleansing rituals using African clay, oxytocin-inspired relaxation treatments, and botanical bathing ceremonies.
