Discovery of the Month
A hideaway for wine lovers: the Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno in the backcountry of Barcelona is the first luxury hotel in the Catalan wine region of Priorat. The property is also a member of Relais & Châteaux. The fancy grapes are the secret stars here, although the boutique hotel with its 24 rooms is quite a sight itself.

The Suites
The Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno, which opened two years ago, retains the authentic charm of its 18th-century buildings, Masía and Atelier. While the exterior honors tradition, the interior stuns with elegant modernity, featuring natural wood accents and warm beige tones throughout. All accommodations are suites, spread across six categories, each offering sweeping vineyard views. With the exception of the Junior Suite and Suite, all include a private terrace of at least 25 square meters (269 sq. ft). Room sizes start at 55 square meters (592 sq. ft.) and culminate in the 120 Square meters (1,291 sq. ft.) Bruno's Suite (pictured) – the hotel’s answer to a Presidential Suite. This signature suite features a private dining room, dressing area, Roman bath, and fireplace, along with a private garden, accessible through stunning historic archways.

The Culinary
Naturally, a hotel set in the heart of vineyards gives wine a starring role. At the Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno, that’s reflected in every detail – starting with the stylish wine cellar (pictured) which doubles as a tasting room. Guests descend via an impressive spiral staircase, setting the scene for curated sips and sensory experiences. The hotel’s main restaurant, Vinum, offers tasting menus in the evening, with seating indoors and out – always accompanied by the sommelier. For something more relaxed, Terraco, the poolside restaurant, is open from midday to early evening. And for cocktails or a glass of Priorat’s best, your clients head to Bruno’s Bar.
The Experiences
The Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno goes above and beyond to connect guests with its stunning surroundings. From e-bike rides through the hills to helicopter tours, the landscape can be explored in style. For a slower pace, guests can enjoy a picnic or yoga session right in the vineyards, soaking in the scents and serenity of Priorat. A scenic amphitheater with a bonfire offers the perfect spot to take in the views and the stars. For night owls, the four-hour Stellar Experience combines stargazing with a cosmic-themed cocktail. Naturally, wine takes center stage too – with tastings, an exclusive Sommelier Masterclass, and even olive oil samplings. New this summer: guests can get hands-on by crafting their own personalized wine or honey, complete with custom label and home delivery – a delicious memory bottled to go.
