Bawe Island Opens Its Doors
The Cocoon Collection's resort Bawe Island opened on Zanzibar in the beginning of July. Located 15 minutes by boat from the capital Stone Town, the 30-hectare (74-acre) island welcomes its guests with five restaurants and bars, as well as a kids' club, spa, tennis court, gym, pool, and helipad. The 70 villas, all of which have their own veranda with an ocean view and private pool, have plenty of privacy and include butler service. Yoga and Pilates classes, bikes, water sports, diving, and other excursions are also available.
The Emory Includes Arrival by Helicopter
Flexjet and London's newest all-suite hotel, The Emory, are joining forces to give guests both comfort and thrills at the same time with a complementary helicopter transfer from the private jet terminals at Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton, and Stansted airports. Taken directly to London Heliport Battersea, the hotel's own limousine awaits its passengers for pickup. Up to eight people can be transported by helicopter, which must be booked at least 72hrs in advance, and the hotel's own private fleet is on standby in case of bad weather.
Regent Intros Travel Routes for 2026/27
Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled its new Voyage Collection for 2026/27. Among them are 173 trips with 16 new ports, eight additional Immersive Overnight cruises, and four Grand Voyages. Itineraries range from new routes through Alaska and the Caribbean, to much longer stays in Japan and even a 140-night world cruise in 2027. Best to be quick: The voyages in the new Voyage Collection can already be reserved now – all that's required is a small deposit of 7.5 percent if the booking is made until August 31st, 2024.
Qatar Airways Shows Next-Gen Qsuite
Big unveiling at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024: Qatar Airways, together with Sama, the world's first AI crew member, presented the brand new Qsuite Next Gen, which is set to impress with improved features. These include movable 4K OLED screens, a turn-down service with "Make My Bed" function, larger lie-flat beds, higher partitions and more. The new Qsuite will be used on board all Qatar Airways Boeing B777-9 aircraft by 2025.
Versailles Gets a New Luxury Hotel
The Relais & Châteaux property Les Lumières Versailles just opened its doors. The 21 rooms and 10 suites are spread out across two 17th-century pavilions and bear the names of important figures from the Enlightenment. A spa, a tea room, a bar, and a restaurant round out the amenities on-site. It's right across from the Palace of Versailles, which has private tours, arts and crafts courses, outdoor meditation, carriage rides, and horseback riding.
