Calimala Enters the Milan Market
After establishing its presence in Florence, Calimala is celebrating the opening of its second location in Porta Venezia, Milan. The new 88-room hotel, which includes four suites, debuted in July. Guests can enjoy an espresso bar, a rooftop pool bar, and a restaurant slated to open in spring 2026. Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies. The design blends dark terrazzo flooring with walnut wood, glass, art photography, and bold color accents.
Crystal Announces New Cruise Lineup
Crystal Cruises has unveiled its itineraries for the second half of 2027, covering more than 90 destinations across four continents. Highlights include Alaska, North America's East Coast, the Caribbean, Latin America, Tierra del Fuego, the Mediterranean, and Northern Europe. The voyages will be operated by Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, with shore excursions curated primarily in partnership with luxury DMC Abercrombie & Kent.
United Upgrades EWR Lounge
The newly expanded Polaris Lounge at Newark Airport now offers a dining room with seating for nearly 60 guests – a 10 % increase in capacity. Located in Terminal C, between gates C102 and C120, the area is open daily from 5AM to 10PM. And there’s also good news when it comes to punctuality: In the first half of June, 80.8 % of United flights arrived in Newark on time, while only 0.8 % were canceled – making it the top performer across New York’s three major airports.
Aqua Expeditions Unveils New Ship
The Aqua Lares will become the sixth vessel in the Aqua Expeditions fleet, scheduled to set sail in February 2026. The new expedition yacht, which can be booked by cabin, has 15 suites and a ratio of one crew member per guest. It will cruise the Seychelles, the Unesco-protected Aldabra Atoll, Zanzibar, and the coast of Tanzania. Onboard amenities include a cinema, gym, spa, whirlpools, mountain bikes, water sports equipment, and more. Five- to eleven-day trips will be bookable starting September 1.
Tinajani Welcomes Guests to the Andes
Andean has opened Tinajani, a new high-altitude retreat in Peru located at 3,895 meters (12,779 feet) in the secluded Valley of the Giants between Cusco and Lake Titicaca. The private reserve offers six sustainably designed and stilted tent suites featuring bedrooms, lounges, wood-burning stoves, private terraces, and outdoor whirlpools. Guests can enjoy traditional cuisine such as chairo soup and chapla bread, as well as picnics beneath giant bromeliads and canyon hikes.
Rosewood Debuts in French Alps
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin in December 2025. This will mark the brand’s first property in the French Alps and its second across France. Situated at the highest point of Courchevel 1850, the resort will offer ski-in/ski-out access to the region’s slopes. In addition, it will feature 51 rooms and suites, a spa, a terrace restaurant, a cigar lounge, a kids’ club, retail outlets, and ski rental services.
