In Costa Rica, the Papagayo Peninsula on the northern Pacific coast is the place to be for luxury travelers. In addition to upscale hotels there are also some super-chic villas, including The Hive Private Residence. This hideaway for design aficionados is perfectly situated between sky and sea, has a whole team ready for its guests, and beautiful nature at its doorstep.

The Suites

Diverse color palettes from blue to gold, bronze to white please the eye in the six suites at The Hive Private Residence. They're all adorned with a very special style that the former owners brought in when they once furnished the 1,625 square meter (17,491sq. ft.) villa as a private home. A particular eye-catcher is the bed, which appears to be floating since its legs are not visible. Each suite is very spacious and has its own bathroom. On top of having so much space, some suites even have two bathtubs (and an ocean view in the golden suite!). High-quality bath amenities and curtains that are controlled by remote control round out the picture. That might sound pretty simple, but it's a big plus. It's a great feeling to let light into the room at the touch of a button and reveal a view out over the islands of Costa Rica. Naturally, every suite has an ocean view.

The Culinary

If clients get hungry, they don't have to leave The Hive. In addition to the cleaning staff, the Private Residence staff also includes waiters and a chef with international experience at the highest level. The specialty is Costa Rican cuisine, but other Central American dishes also come with a particularly masterful ease. Want something international? No problem, it'll be whipped up in no time flat. When the seafood and fish are caught fresh off the coast every day though, the decision should not be difficult... Guests can dine in the stylish indoor dining area with an open kitchen, or on the terrace to enjoy the view – and an additional eye-catcher: the seashell shaped chairs add to the exotic flair.

The Activities

Chilling out and enjoying the view, especially from the infinity pool, should be at the top of your clients' priority list here. They can always contact the villa's concierge for even the slightest whim – perhaps water sports such as SUP or diving excursions, or a morning tee at the nearby Arnold Palmer Golf Course. But let's kick it up a notch. How about a volcano hike or ziplining through the rainforest? No problem! A visit to the locals or a rum tasting in the villa? Absolutely! Cooking classes, sessions with a meditation coach, as well as fitness and wellness are also options at The Hive. Casual game sessions have also received their due consideration with billiards and a table for card games. If it's a movie night after dinner with the fam, a huge screen and a cocktail from the in-house bar will serve as much of a simple pleasure as it will a nightcap. Take note: the nearest airport is Liberia (LIR).
