Luxury Ambassador of the Month

Andreea Cojocarescu, Managing Director Exclusive Luxury Travel · Romania

What sparked your passion for luxury travel?

"Although I basically grew up in my parent’s travel agency, the very first private one in Romania after the revolution from 1989, my real passion for tourism came later, when I discovered just how powerful experiential travel can be. What I love most about our industry is its magical ability to transform people, opening their minds and hearts through new experiences and places, connecting them with new cultures, perspectives of life and even parts of themselves they didn’t know existed. It is endlessly rewarding to design journeys that change perceptions. The best part? There’s always another adventure around the corner!"

Which travel themes do you specialize in?

"I have always been in pursuit of the unusual, the adventurous, and singular experiences, and I’ve long considered space tourism the next landmark in travel. Researching and preparing for this new frontier has been a natural extension of my commitment to offering clients what is rare and transformative."

What was the funniest request a client ever asked you for?

"I once had a client who was terrified of flying asking me for a flight that guaranteed no turbulence. If only I had a magic wand for that, my services would be out of this world (quite literally, considering our space travel niche)!"

What kind of client would you turn down?

"I have turned down requests in the past that didn’t fit my ethical standards – and rudeness or disrespect is a definite no-go. Life (and travel) is too beautiful to waste energy on negativity."

Is there a destination that you have traveled to before and would love to go back to?

"Yes, I’ve completely and utterly fallen for Antarctica. Initially, my plan was just to tick off my seventh continent, and I usually don’t revisit destinations because life’s too short and the world is so big. But Antarctica is different, I'd go back tomorrow if I could. People are often baffled by my choice, asking, 'Why such a vast, frozen desert?' But for me, it was about profound silence and serenity, a feeling of humility in the face of nature’s grandeur, and an unexpectedly moving bond with wildlife, where animals come so close and fearless, it feels like you’re part of a world untouched, at the very beginning of things."

If you could tell a young person something to convince him or her to work in the luxury travel industry – what would you say?

"I’d say: few jobs let you travel the world every day, at least in your imagination, while making people’s dream moments come true. You meet people eager for discovery, when they’re at their happiest, and you’re part of their best stories: the anticipation, excitement, and pure joy of planning their next adventure. You also have the chance to make a real impact, bridging cultures, connecting people to the incredible diversity and beauty of the world and you get to help foster understanding and empathy across cultures. Plus, luxury travel lets you be a creator of memories that inspire and transform. Now, isn’t that rewarding?"
