The Villas
You can literally count the accommodations at Aarunya Nature Resort on two hands – there are just ten. Each one is thoughtfully spaced for privacy and varies in size and style. The newest showstopper? The Sol Sanctuary (pictured), opened just a few months ago, offers a generous 165 square meters (1776 square feet) of space, including two bedrooms. If you don’t need quite that much room, there are three other options: The Sky Pavilion Villa spans 90 square meters (969 square feet), with 30 (323) of those dedicated to terraces boasting mountain views. It also comes with a private plunge pool and jacuzzi. The Sky Habitat Villa (50 plus 30 square meters, 538 plus 323 square feet) includes a plunge pool and a outdoor bathtub. And last but not least: the Sky Tented Villa (85 square meters, 915 square feet), located on the upper floor of the Sky Habitat. Outdoor bathing is part of the experience – and the connection to nature is as close as it gets.
The Culinary
Dinner with a view? Absolutely! The Verandah Restaurant, housed in the Central Bungalow (pictured), offers sweeping sights of the mountains and the stunning infinity pool. On the menu: international cuisine with a Sri Lankan twist. For something more immersive, the Aahaara Specialty Dining Restaurant delivers big – think nine-course menus, live music, and a Signature Dining Experience. Expect bold, authentic Sri Lankan flavors served in a traditional mud house deep in the rainforest. Craving something more laid-back? Light bites are available poolside, and in-villa dining is an option too – including a floating breakfast served right in your pool.
