Moskito Island Gets More Villas
The Branson Beach Estate is the latest jewel in the Virgin Limited Collection. Located on Moskito Island, part of the British Virgin Islands, the estate, which consists of three individual villas, is now available for booking. Guests can choose to rent Headland House, Mangrove Villa, and Beach Villa individually or together. The Branson Beach Estate is located on the northeastern tip of Mosquito Island. There is room for a total of 22 guests. Of course, the estate has a private beach for water sports.
Lima Gets Stylish Boutique Hotel
City trip to Peru planned? Then Fausto in the chic Miraflores district of Lima is a great address. The new guest house has only six rooms and looks a bit like a Peruvian apartment building, but the rooms are certainly chic. The real luxury here, however, is in the ambience – something that should make guests feel right at home. For example, the refrigerator is accessible anytime, and is filled with plenty of delicacies for guests to enjoy at their leisure. Hot meals are provided by the Fausto's chef.
LUX Belle Mare Celebrates Reopen
An icon is back. After the Mauritian resort was almost completely destroyed by fire in 2022, The LUX Collective had the LUX Belle Mare rebuilt by architect Jean-Francois Adam, adhering as closely as possible to the original layout and design. The twelve villas and 174 suites come with a mix of Mauritian flair and minimalism. The 2,000-square-meter (21,500sq. ft.) pool is one of the largest on the island. Culinary highlights await guests in the Avani signature restaurant by starred Indian chef Vineet Bhatia.
Soneva Launches Private Island
On January 10, 2024, Soneva Secret, Soneva's newest highlight, will welcome its first guests. Located on a private island in the most remote atoll of the Maldives – Haa Dhaalu Atoll – Soneva Secret includes only 14 beach and overwater villas. The Crusoe Villas are located on the lagoon and are accessible only by boat. The highlight is the Castaway Villa, the first floating villa in the Maldives. Wow feature: the roofs of all accommodations can be slid open for stargazing.
Mandarin Oriental in Singapore Returns
Six months of work were needed, but now the luxury hotel is celebrating its reopening. A brand new addition to the 510 rooms and suites is the Presidential Suite. Like the Royal Marina Bay Penthouse, it is located on the top two floors of the hotel. The hotel's new design concept aims to blur the lines between inside and outside. Room furnishings are also visually based on the scenes outside the windows. Also cool: the Embu restaurant now looks like a large garden.
Tim Raue Cooks at Soneva Fushi
German celebrity chef Tim Raue will be the guest chef at the Maldivian luxury resort Soneva Fushi for 15 weeks. His plan involves creating dishes that combine Asian flavors, German components, and Maldivian ingredients. The Zip Line restaurant Flying Sauces (pictured) will become a pop-up Tim Raue restaurant. There he will serve duck, deep-fried wasabi langoustine, baked Jerusalem artichoke, and yuzu cheesecake, among other dishes.
