Looking for something remote? Banwa Private Island is the ultimate escape. Set just off Palawan in the Philippines, this hideaway offers absolute privacy without skimping on luxuries. Think pristine nature at your doorstep, paired with all the amenities you’d ever need. Getting there is half the thrill – guests arrive by helicopter from Manila or Palawan, or by a scenic speedboat ride from Palawan.
The Villas
Only five residences are scattered across the island – and each one is jaw-dropping. "Small" simply doesn’t exist here: even the so-called entry category starts at a staggering 2,158 square meters (23,200 square feet). Inside, guests will find a spacious bedroom, while outside every villa comes with its own garden, pool, and direct beach access. Two of the villas offer two bedrooms, and the crown jewel – South West Villa (pictured) – spans more than 5,719 square meters (61,500) square feet with four bedrooms, hosting up to a dozen guests. A personal butler is on call 24/7, and privacy is guaranteed thanks to the generous spacing between each residence. Your clients prefer to stay cocooned in their villa? No problem. Beyond the pool, every villa features a jacuzzi, vast outdoor lounge areas shaded by canopies, daybeds, and chic seating spots.

The Culinary
Banwa Private Island takes dining to the next level with its own restaurant, Latitude – but the magic doesn’t stop there. True to its luxury-island spirit, the team loves to surprise guests with lunches and dinners set in unforgettable spots around the island. As for the menu? It’s entirely up to your clients. If they don’t have a specific craving, the chefs craft a mix of international and Filipino dishes made with fresh, organic ingredients sourced largely from the island’s own farm. They can expect plenty of just-caught seafood, tropical fruits, and garden vegetables. Prefer halal, vegetarian, vegan, or Mediterranean cuisine? Consider it done. And when it’s time for sunset, the bar team shakes and stirs custom cocktails exactly how they like them – served with a view that’s pure paradise.
The Experiences
Though Banwa Private Island measures just 6,5 hectar (16 acres), it packs in a surprising amount of things to do. Sitting within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it’s a dream for water lovers – think sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, and stand-up paddleboarding. Golfers won’t feel left out either: a nine-hole course is tucked away beneath the palms. On land, guests can enjoy tennis, yoga, or a soothing massage. At certain times of year, hawksbill turtles nest on the island, and with a bit of luck, guests might witness hatchlings making their way to the sea. By night, the island turns into a stargazer’s paradise. Beyond Banwa, the adventures continue: just 20 minutes away, river expeditions deliver an adrenaline kick, while UNESCO sites like the Tubbataha Reefs and the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park promise unforgettable explorations.
