New Luxury Resorts Arrive in Fiji
By 2030, The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay (pictured) will rise on a prime beachfront site along the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, Fiji’s main island. Plans call for 166 rooms and suites as well as 83 private pool villas. The showpiece will be the 480-square-meter Presidential Villa. Seven distinct dining concepts are also part of the vision.Meanwhile, One&Only has set its sights on Fiji too: the luxury brand recently announced plans to open a resort in the Yasawa Archipelago in 2029.
Swiss Introduces New Grand Suite
From 2026, Swiss will expand its First Class offering with the new Swiss First Grand Suite. Two adjoining suites, including the connecting passage, are combined into one private space that can flexibly serve as a bedroom, office, or lounge. With walls over 1.8 meters (5.9 feet) high, the suite ensures maximum privacy and caters to travelers with the highest expectations of space and individuality. It will initially be available on the airline’s A350 fleet.
andBeyond Launches Air Taxi in Chile
In Chile’s Lake District, andBeyond operates the Lodge Vira Vira. To offer guests easier access to Patagonia, a brand-new air taxi service will run between Pucón and Puerto Montt from December 15, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Operated with a small Cessna, the flights have limited luggage capacity. Departures from Puerto Montt are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, while flights from Pucón will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Rocky Mountaineer Starts New Route
In June and July 2026, the Canadian luxury train Rocky Mountaineer will debut its new 'Passage to the Peaks' route. The journey runs from Banff to Jasper through the majestic Canadian Rockies. It includes two days aboard the train and an overnight stay in Kamloops, with the option to extend up to ten days. Highlights along the way include the Continental Divide, Yellowhead Pass, Pyramid Falls, Mount Robson, Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, and the legendary Spiral Tunnel.

Emerald Opens First Kaia Bookings
On April 4, 2026, Emerald Cruises’ newest fleet member, Emerald Kaia, will set sail from Limassol on her maiden voyage. The 11-day journey travels via Greece to Turkey and is now open for bookings. The yacht accommodates just 128 guests. Bookings are also available for the inaugural sailing of sister ship Emerald Raiya, joining the fleet in 2027. From June 19, 2027, it will embark on an eight-day itinerary through the Greek islands to Turkey, before remaining in the Mediterranean.
